The Administrative Core is responsible for the organization and overall operation of the Center.
The External Advisory Committee includes five clinicians and scientists from the fields of otolaryngology, neurology, neurosurgery, speech-language pathology, speech sciences, and neuroimaging, who provide oversight of the scientific progress of the Center and guide the research plan as appropriate.

The Administrative Core pursues the following goals: (1) to integrate and support all Center components and scientific activities; (2) to provide regulatory and budgetary oversight to the Center, and (3) to promote scientific discovery of the Center.
The Administrative Core’s significance is in ensuring that there is a direct line of communication between the Center components, the adherence to institutional and federal regulatory policies, the effectiveness of fund expenditure across the Center, and timely dissemination of scientific knowledge derived from the studies of the Center.
