Dongren received his Ph.D. degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from Brainnetome Center & National Laboratory Pattern Recognition, Chinese Academy of Science, Institute of Automation. He spent two and half years as a joint-supervision student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his doctoral research, Dongren used advanced machine learning algorithms to discriminate patients with mental disorders from healthy controls based on their brain MRI data. In the Simonyan lab, Dongren focuses on developing advanced deep (machine) learning models to identify dystonia and discover meaningful biomarkers from multi-modalities brain images.
