Xiuyu received his Bachelor’s degree from the South China Normal University, a Master’s degree from the University of Sydney, and a PhD from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also spent one year as a joint-supervision PhD student at the University of Alberta. In his doctoral work, Xiuyu studied the predictive analytics in motor imagery brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) using advanced deep learning techniques. In Simonyan Lab, Xiuyu focuses on developing advanced algorithms to improve the performance of the BCIs for the treatment of focal dystonia.
